Chen Xiaodong, general manager of Shanghai Risheng, won the Shanghai Youth Science and Technology Outstanding Contribution Award

 

On the morning of May 18, 2015, the Shanghai Science and Technology Award Conference was held in the Friendship Hall of Shanghai Exhibition Center. Han Zheng, secretary of the Shanghai Municipal CPC Committee, Yang Xiong, deputy secretary of the Shanghai Municipal CPC Committee and mayor, and city leaders Yin Yicui, Ying Yong, Tu Guangshao, Xu Zezhou, Yin Hong, Zhou Bo and Fang Huiping attended the meeting. Among them, senior engineer Chen Xiaodong, general manager of Shanghai Risheng, won the Shanghai Youth Science and Technology Outstanding Contribution Award.

 

Chen Xiaodong graduated from the Department of Chemistry of Shanghai University of Science and Technology (now Shanghai University) with a master's degree in polymer in 1994. He founded Shanghai Rizhisheng New Technology Development Co., Ltd. in 1996 and is currently the general manager, chief engineer and party branch secretary of the company. Over the years, he has devoted himself to the research of plastic modification and polymer composite materials, and has continuously promoted the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements transformation projects, so that Rizhisheng has grown from a registered capital of 500000 yuan at the beginning to today's annual sales revenue of more than 2.12 billion billion yuan, annual taxes and annual profits of more than 100 million yuan, Shanghai high-tech enterprises and Shanghai science and technology "little giant" enterprises with total assets of nearly 0.54 billion billion yuan, the company's production scale, research and development capabilities, staff quality, economic benefits, and core competitiveness are among the best in the same industry in China, and it has been rated as one of the top 100 private technology enterprises in Shanghai for many years.

Chen Xiaodong has been offering employment and entrepreneurship lectures for the cognition practice of polymer major students in our school since 2005. Since 2010, the "Rizhisheng Scholarship" has been set up to reward outstanding undergraduates and graduate students. His company has also become an internship base for polymer materials students. Since 2012, Chen Xiaodong has cooperated with professors in the Department of Polymer Materials to jointly cultivate master talents in polymer materials engineering. In view of his outstanding achievements, Chen Xiaodong was hired as an adjunct professor in the School of Materials in 2014.
